Worcester—John J. Pakula, 68, died Saturday, December 17, 2005, at St. Vincent Hospital. He leaves his wife, Lois E. (Mangsen) Pakula; a son, John J. Pakula, Jr., of Springfield; 5 daughters, Kristin M. Pakula of Worcester, Karen E. Armenti of Shrewsbury, Linda M. Cariglia of Oxford, Laura J. Pakula of New Market, NH, and Lisa A. Spier of Big Bend National Park, TX; 2 brothers, Col. Kenneth R. Pakula ret of Kansas City, KS and Thomas J. Pakula of Davidsonville, MD; 1 sister, Maureen C. Pakula of Hingham; 8 grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, & cousins. He was born in Clinton, son of Brig. Gen. John J. Pakula and Helen I. (Bibik) Pakula. John served in the Army National Guard and the U.S. Air Force. He retired from the Mass. 212 Air Force National Guard. He was a member of the Worcester Elks and the Tatnuck Post American Legion.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 20, from Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln St., with a mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. Charles of Borremeo, 341 June Street. Burial will be in All Faiths Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Monday, Dec. 19, from 5-8 p.m. at Nordgren Memorial Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Place W, Fl 6, Brookline, MA 02445-9924.
