Loretta Blevins Rutherford, 82, of Tifton passed away Sunday, December 2, 2018, at Legacy Village in Tifton. A graveside funeral service will be held for Mrs. Rutherford at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 5, 2018, at Oak Ridge Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest. The Rev. Dr. Fred Evers will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 4, 2018, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Born April 2, 1936 in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Mrs. Rutherford was the daughter of the late Arle Blevins and Geneva Woodard Blevins. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Gene Rutherford; and one brother, Donald Blevins. She was a homemaker, but also worked at Shoney’s and Western Sizzlin’ in Tifton for over 25 years; and she was a military wife for 20 years.
Mrs. Rutherford is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Theresa Ann and Harry Fallin of Tifton; one sister-in-law, LaVerne Blevins Henson of Moultrie; two grandsons and their wives, Patrick and Cecilia Fallin and Anthony and Charlie Fallin; six great-grandchildren; and two nieces, Donna Marshall and Dena Mathis.
