Armindo Tavares Varela (74) of Brockton died December 1st peacefully in his home surrounded by his family.
He was born in Praia, Santiago, Cabo Verde son of the late Benicio Varela and Elvira Goncalves DaMoura. Armindo was a carpenter by trade and communicant of St. Edith Stein Church. He enjoyed walking, playing cards, listening to music, watching soccer and was known as a funny man.
Survivors include 3 sons, Antonio, Joao and Jose Tavares all of Brockton, 2 daughters, Rosangela Tavares of Brockton and Evelise Sanches of Taunton, a sister Manuela Varela of Bostonm 11 grand and many great grandchildren.
Services from the Home of Funerarias Multi Culturel 238 Court Street Brockton Friday December 7th at 8 am. Follow by a Funeral Mass in St. Edith Stein Church 71 E Main Street Brockton at 9 am. Burial will follow in Melrose Cemetery. Visitation in the Funeral Home Thursday December 6th from 5-9.
