Filadelfo “Delfo” “Phil” Ossino, of Medford, passed away Friday, November 30th. He was 64. Born and raised in Lentini, Sicily, he came to the United States when he was 15. He was the cherished son of the late Salvatore and Vincenza (Ciciulla) Ossino.
Delfo loved to spend time with his family, they were his pride and joy. Family meant everything to him. A natural people person, he had no problem starting conversations with complete strangers. He could make friends anywhere, and had friends everywhere. He always knew the right thing to say and was full of advice and wisdom. His voice was known to bellow throughout the house; he always reminded everyone, “I’m not yelling I’m just talking loud!” Delfo was proud of his Italian heritage and his roots run deep with tradition.
When Delfo was not spending time with his family he was baking. He was the best baker pouring his heart and soul into every one of his confectionary masterpieces. Baking made him happy. He enjoyed watching his family indulge in his homemade cakes, cookies, bread pudding, or his famous heavily saturated rum cake with homemade whip cream and nuts.
Filadelfo was the beloved husband of forty years to Laura (Ebbs) Ossino of Medford. He was the devoted father of Michael Ossino, Filadelfo Ossino and his wife Darcy, both of Medford, and Christina Ossino and her loving partner Michael Conceicao of Methuen. The loving Nonno of Hunter Ossino. The dear brother of Concetta Pascucci and her husband Giovanni of Medford. The proud uncle of Giuseppe Pascucci and Salvatore Pascucci and his fiancé Patricia Martinez. He is also survived by many loving family members and friends.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with the family on Wednesday, December 5th from 8:30 to 10:30 AM at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner St., Medford, at 11 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
