FRAMINGHAM___Mary (Repekta) Rawling, of Framingham, formerly of Worcester, died Wednesday Dec. 14 in her home. She was the widow of Edward A. Rawling who died in 2000.
Mary was the mother of six daughters, Helen Munroe, Joanne Prentice, Ruth Noble and Barbara Bloomingdale all of Framingham; Catherine Corcoran of Uxbridge and Susan Rawling Noble of Needham. Grandmother to 17 grandchildren, Alexander, Patrick and Laura Munroe, Jennifer, Rebecca Victoria and Joseph Corcoran, Shahin and Amelia Prentice, Jason and Samantha Blaisdell, Heather and Priscilla Noble and Lisa, William, Christopher and Timothy Bloomingdale. She was born and raised in Worcester, daughter of Anthony and Eugenia (Kozak) Repekta and lived there until 1969 when she and her family moved to Framingham. She was predeceased by her siblings, Nicholas, Anthony and Helen Repekta, Nina Inangelo and Vera Westerlind.
Mrs. Rawling was an avid bingo player, crochet / knitter. She would often donate handcrafted items to veterans and those in need. She held a Bachelors and Masters Degree in Braille Transcription and she transcribed books for the National Braille Press and provided braille transcription for Framingham Lions Club projects. Mary enjoyed travel to Marco Island, FL and the Poconos. She graduated from Commerce High School and Salter Secretarial School both in Worcester. Mrs. Rawling was retired from Rome Building Products Co., Worcester.
The service will be held on Saturday December 17 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Andrews Episcopal Church, 3 Maple St., Framingham. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mary’s memory may be made to Disabled American Veterans Memorial Program, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH, 45250 0301. HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., Worcester is assisting the family with the service arrangements.
