Jean K. (Battaglia) DiNunzio, a resident of Medford, formerly of St. James City, Florida, passed away at the Life Care Center in Stoneham, on Sunday morning, November 25, 2018. She was 81 years old.
Born and raised in the West End of Boston, Jean was the beloved youngest daughter of the late Salvatore and Frances (Fisichella) Battaglia. Devoted mother of Donna DiNunzio Morrissey and her husband Richard of Millis, Joseph DiNunzio of Saugus and Dianne Patterson and her husband Mark of St. James City, Florida. Dear sister of Josephine Condelli of Medford, Connie Evangelista of Medford, Lucille Fallavollita of Westwood, the late Helen Gallagher, Frances Papazian and Gaetano Battaglia. Loving grandmother of Regina, Salvatore, Jillian, Andreana, Richard, Grace, and Joseph. Beloved great-grandmother of Jessica and Ada. Survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was employed as a Clerk for the US Postal Service in Arlington for many years. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, cooking for her family and playing bingo. She also loved to go to flea markets, yard sales and collecting and selling antique linens. She will be dearly missed.
A Funeral Mass will be held from the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford on Friday, November 30, 2018, at 10 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian burial celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 514 High Street, West Medford at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, November 29, 2018, from 4 to 8 PM. Interment will be privately held.
