L.T. Mills, 82, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Sunday, November 25, 2018, at his residence.
Memorial services will be held 2 PM, Thursday, November 29, 2018, at Bethlehem Baptist Church, in Ben Hill County, with the Rev. Fred Eister officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the church.
Mr. Mills was born May 29, 1936, in Cecil, Georgia, to the late James Charlie & Hazel Louise Bellflower Mills. He was a mechanic by trade and a beekeeper by hobby. He loved sharing honey with friends and neighbors. He enjoyed playing the guitar and singing. Mr. Mills was an avid outdoorsman and had a black belt in karate. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Ben Hill County.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Ethel Mills of Fitzgerald; children: Charlie Paul Mills & Cindy of Berrien County, Paula Jean Luke & Richard of Berrien County, Phyllis Ann Vickers & Lamar of Berrien County, and Karen Elizabeth Varnadoe & Denny of Brunswick; step-children: Bruce Shearer & Laura of Albany and Sandra Carroll & Perry of Fitzgerald; 17 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and two sisters: Wilma Woodruff of Berrien County and Sue Mikell of Berrien County. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Gwendolyn Denise Whitley.
