Elizabeth C. “Liz” (Daly) O’Keefe, age 79, of Brockton, died November 24, 2018 at Southeast Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center due to complications from Alzheimer’s disease. Liz was the loving wife of the late Thomas G. O’Keefe. Born, raised and educated in Boherbue, County Cork, Ireland, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Katherine (Murphy) Daly. She held several jobs over the years, but spent most of her working life as a Bus Driver for the Brockton Public Schools and a Teacher’s Assistant for pre-K children. Liz had been an active communicant and involved with the CCD Program for many years at St. Colman’s Church. She was a longtime member of Ireland’s Own and South Shore Irish Club and enjoyed attending their dances. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, knitting, crocheting, ceramics, sewing and needlepoint.
Liz was the mother of Donna Koury and her husband Tom of Mashpee, Lisa O’Keefe and her wife Blair Benander of Waltham, Kathleen Shea and her husband Chris of Brockton and the late Stephen O’Keefe; grandmother of Sally Inglis and her husband Donny, and Shane and Stone Koury. She was the sister of Jerry, Martin and William Daly, and was predeceased by her siblings Tom, Peg, Mike, Bridie, Mary, Julia and Sean. Liz is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Wednesday 4-7pm. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home Thursday at 9:30am for a Funeral Mass in Christ the King Church at 10:30am. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Alzheimer’s Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Road, Waltham, MA, 02452.
