Nye and his wife Maureen of E. Bridgewater, Karen L. McCarthy and her husband Patrick of Brockton, Caroline E. Dunham and her husband Bill of Lakeville and the late Ronald L. Nye. Also survived by 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Mother in law of Kathy Nye of Brockton.
Funeral Service in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Monday at 10 am. Burial in Melrose Cemetery. Visiting hours Sunday 3-7 pm. Obituary
Mrs. Nye died Thursday evening at Life Care Center in West Bridgewater after a brief illness. She was born in Brockton and raised in Avon, a daughter of the late Leslie and Caroline (Mcdonald) White. Mrs. Nye attended Avon Schools and had been a resident of Brockton for 60 years. She had been a homemaker, staying at home to raise her children and also had raised and cared for many cats, who were born in the wild. Mrs. Nye and her late husband had belonged to a husband and wife bowling league, the former Maple Alleys. She enjoyed embroidery, crewel and salt water fishing.
She is survived by her children, William J. Nye and his wife Kathleen of Palm Springs, Fl; Steven D. Nye and his wife Maureen of E. Bridgewater, Karen L. McCarthy and her husband Patrick of Brockton, Caroline E. Dunham and her husband Bill of Lakeville, 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, a daughter in law Kathy Nye of Brockton, a sister Marion Darienzzo of Stratford, Maine, a brother Lawrence White of Marshfield and many nieces and nephews.
