Stephen M. Teixeira, 61, of Westport, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at St. Anne's Hospital. He was the husband of Joanne (Dziewit) Teixeira.
Born in Fall River, son of Rosemarie (Santos) Teixeira of Tiverton and the late John Teixeira, he had lived in Westport for 32 years. Mr. Teixeira was a welder/pipefitter for Environmental Systems, Inc. in Attleboro, he also served as a call firefighter and a reserve police officer for the Town of Westport in his younger years. He was a member of the EMA Special Services Division of the Westport Fire Department.
Including his wife and mother, survivors include 2 sons: Michael E. Teixeira and his wife Kerry of Westport and Samuel E. Teixeira and his wife Katlyn of Westport; a brother: Jack Teixeira of Tiverton; a grandson: Cole; mother-in-law: Stasia Dziewit of Acushnet; and 2 nieces.
Memorial service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at the Potter Funeral Home at 7:30 PM.
Memorial visitation will be Wednesday, November 28, 2018 from 5-7:30 PM prior to the service.
Interment will be private.
