Maria (Crugnale) Del Monaco,of Medford, passed away Tuesday, November 20th, surrounded by her loving family. She was 69.
Born in Pettorano Sul Gizio, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Michele and Irma (Susi) Crugnale.
Maria came to the United States when she was 19 years old, she stayed for a year. When she moved back to Italy, that is when she met the love of her life Ezio Del Monaco, soon after they got married. Shortly after the two married, they came to the U.S. and settled in the North End for eleven years before calling Medford their home. She was employed as a seamstress for many years.
Maria’s family was her pride and joy. She loved spending time with them especially with her husband Ezio. Maria was a great mom and a wonderful grandmother. Maria loved to cook and bake for her family and friends. When Maria wasn’t cooking or baking, she was doing what she loved best, which was taking care of her two granddaughters. Maria was a dear friend to many both here in the U.S. and in Italy.
She was the beloved wife of 48 years to Ezio Del Monaco. She was the devoted mother of Irma Fountain and her husband Brian, loving grandmother of Brianna and Isabella Fountain. She is also survived by many dear relatives and friends both here and in Italy.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD, Monday, November 26th at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford, at 10 AM . Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday 4-8 PM. Services will conclude with entombment at Woodlawn Mausoleum, Everett.
