Obituary

Diane Hawkes (Berio), age 75 passed away November 20, 2018 due to injuries sustained in an accident last week. Diane was born and raised in Weymouth. She married Theodore “Teddy” Hawkes in 1971 and they started a family soon after. Once their children had started school Diane took an active roll in running Park Ave Market in S. Weymouth with her husband. Although she worked as a bookkeeper she loved working behind the counter serving the many customers who have become friends and, at times, family over the years.

Diane was a lady who can be described as personable and friendly. She loved getting involved in her children’s activities such as Rainbow Girls, Boy Scouts, and was a DeMolay mother. Diane loved her family, and her extended family from Park Ave Market very much.

Diane was predeceased by her son Teddy Hawkes Jr. She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years Theodore “Teddy” Hawkes Sr. of S. Weymouth, her daughter Nancy Hawkes of S. Weymouth, and her siglings Thomas Berio, Nicholas Berio, Kay Mayers, and Jackie Taylor.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to the visiting hours for Diane on Sunday November 25, 2018 from 2-6pm at the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth, MA. Friends will gather in the Old South Union Church on Monday morning for a funeral service at 10am. Burial will immediately follow the service in Mount Hope Cemetery, Weymouth. Donations may be made in memory of Diane to the Shriners Hospital for Children at 51 Blossom St., Boston, MA 02114.
