William F. Everham, 71
William (Bill) Francis Everham, 71, of Bath, died on November 20, following a short illness.
Bill was born April 1, 1947 in Rock Island, Illinois and raised by his parents Mary and William Everham in Itasca, Illinois. A graduate of Lake Park High School, Bill married his high school sweetheart, Wendy Beach, a marriage that lasted 47 years until Wendy’s death in 2017. He received his B.A. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and an M.A. from Roosevelt University.
Bill and Wendy spent most of their married life in Illinois before moving to Bath eight years ago, fully embracing and loving their new community and state. Bill would often start his mornings at the local coffee house enjoying conversation with friends. He became actively involved with the Sagadahoc Democrats.
During his Chicago days, Bill worked for Horton Publishing as a publisher of Supply House Times, a leading trade magazine for the plumbing industry, and also supervised other related trade publications. He later worked in marketing and sales for media streaming platforms.
He will be remembered for his wit, his enjoyment of friends and family, and as someone who was deeply involved in his community.
He is survived by his mother, Mary Everham, and his sister Hope (Gary) Ahlberg - both of Illinois, his brother Peter (Susan) Everham of Arizona; nieces Addie, Johanna, Rosie, Samantha, and Sophie, nephews Matthew, Patrick, and Peter; and his brothers-in-law Wayne (Marcia) Beach of Phippsburg, and Warren (Nancy) Beach of Illinois.
A memorial gathering will be held on Sunday, November 25 at 3 p.m. at the Center for Peace & Community, 44 Summer Street, Bath, Maine.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Patten Free Library in Bath, or to a Maine-based conservation organization.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday Nov. 24, at 2:30 PM at the Cedar Brook Burial Ground in Limington.
