Maurice M. Moody Sr., 78, of Londonderry, NH, died Friday, December 16, 2005 in the Parkland Medical Center in Derry, NH. Mr. Moody was born in Raymond, NH on May 30, 1927, a son of the late Benjamin F. and Mary E. (Richardson) Moody. He was a resident of Londonderry for the past ten years, formerly living in Hudson, NH. He had been a member of the Civil Air Patrol. Mr. Moody was employed as a welder for Improved Machinery Corp. in Nashua for many years, and prior to that, as a mechanic for the Merrimack Street Garage in Manchester, NH. He was a member of the Londonderry Seniors and was a communicant of St. Jude Parish in Londonderry.
He is survived by four sons, John H. Moody and wife Judith of Derry, Robert Moody and wife Nancy of Olive Branch, MS, Maurice M. Moody Jr. and wife Betty Lou of Hudson, Stephen M. Moody and wife Lisa of Dunstable, MA, one daughter, Diane Flechtner of S. Portland, ME, sixteen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, one sister, Isabelle Glidden of Raymond, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Alice V. (Kirwan) Moody who died in 2002, and a daughter Carolyn Ranney who died in 1992.
Calling hours were on Monday, December 19, 2005 from 4 - 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Tuesday, December 20th at 10:00am in St. Jude Parish, 435 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry, with cremation following.
