Elton DeBerry, 75, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Monday, November 19, 2018, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 4 PM, Friday, November 23, 2018, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald with Elder Edward McIntyre officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
Mr. DeBerry was born August 30, 1943, in Irwin County, Georgia, to the late Robert & Mattie Spicer DeBerry. He was concrete truck driver for W. E. Ross & Sons and worked in construction for Coachmen Industries and Eston Dunlap Construction. Mr. DeBerry was a hard-working man. He loved fishing, carpentry, playing cards and scratch off tickets. He was of the Primitive Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Elaine DeBerry of Fitzgerald; a son, Christopher Leon DeBerry & Magilene Jane of Fitzgerald; step great-grandchildren: Keisha Lashanna Smith, Olin Latreal James Nunn and William James Nunn, III and one step great-great-grandchild. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a step-granddaughter, Regina Carol Parrish, three brothers and two sisters.
