Obituary

WORCESTER-Joan Therese (Reynolds) Traub, 73, of 55 Botany Bay Road died Wednesday, December 14th at home. She leaves her husband; Dr. Donald Francis Traub, they celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary on October 27th, 2 sons; Edmund Francis Traub, Sr. and Keith Francis Traub both of Worcester, 2 daughters; Mary Therese Traub of Las Vegas, NV and Evelyne Marie wife of Gary P. Conlon of Tucson, AZ, a brother; Joseph Agustine Reynolds of Marietta, GA, 7 grandchildren; Ashleigh Therese and Patrick Edward Borglund, Donald Francis Traub, II, Edmund Francis Traub, Jr., Garrett Patrick, Caelan Francis and Livia Grace Conlon and numerous nephews and nieces. A brother; Jack Reynolds and 3 sisters; Rosemary, Catherine and Margaret Ann Reynolds predeceased her.

She was born in Bronxville, NY the daughter of Patrick and Margaret (Grogan) Reynolds. She graduated from St. Gabriel High School in New Rochelle, NY, received a degree in English from Our Lady of Good Council at Pace University in White Plains, NY in 1954 and was a masters degree candidate at Worcester State College. Mrs. Traub was employed by Worcester Vocational High School where she taught mathematics for 26 years until retiring in 1996. Previously she was employed by Immaculate Conception School in Tuckahoe, NY, Rice Elementary School in Holden, where she was a reading teacher, and Rutland Elementary School in Rutland. She was an alumna of Our Lady of Good Council College. Mrs. Traub was an avid reader who enjoyed her grandchildren and attending naval reunions with her husband.

The funeral is Monday, December 19th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 10:00 AM in the Cathedral of St. Paul, 15 Chatham Street. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Holden. Calling hours are Sunday, December 18th from 5:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to VNA Care Hospice Network, Hospice Residence, 120 Thomas Street, Worcester, MA 01608 or American Lung Association, 1 Abbey Lane, Middleboro, MA, 02346.
