Mary S. Correira, age 92, of Fall River, passed away on November 16, 2018 at St. Anne’s Hospital after a long illness. She was the daughter of the late John and Cecelia (Pacheco) Cabeceiras. Mary was a bookkeeper for most of her life starting out at ESS Bee Mfg., then Center Garment and up until recently Kelsport. She was a recipient of the Marian Medal and taught CCD at St. Joseph’s Church for 32 years.
She is survived by her daughter: Patricia Linhares (husband Ronald) of Fall River, sons: Joseph Correira of N. Attleboro, and Rev. David Correira Sr. (wife Lynda) of LA, brother: Ralph Cabeceiras (wife Kathleen) of South Prarie WA, grandchildren: Sheri Onofrey, Aaron Linhares (wife Amy), Chelsey Correira, and David Correira Jr., great granchildren: Joshua, Heather, Craig and Ashlyn Onofrey, and Sierra Linhares of Fall River. Extended family grandson Ryan Paiva (wife Amy Lynn), and their children Emma , Ryan Lynn and Morgan of Acushnet, Renee Purdy (husband Niko) and their son Derek of CT and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late John Cabeceiras, and Genevieve Raposa.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St. Fall River. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial mass in Mary’s memory at St. Joseph’s Church on Friday at 10:00 A.M. Internment is private.
