Manuel Gaspar, age 90, of Fall River, passed away on Thursday November 15, 2018. Born in Capelas, Sao Miguel, Acores he was the son of the late Antonio Pereira Gaspar and Francelina (Pereira) Rita, and husband of the late Fernandina (Chaves) Gaspar. Manuel was a veteran of the Armed Forces of Portugal and a Machine Operator for Plymouth Rubber in Canton, Ma for over 30 years. He enjoyed gardening, tending to his grape vines. Above all else he loved spending time with his family and helping anyone who needed it.
He is survived by his children: Norbert Gaspar (wife Julianne), Gabriel Gaspar, Marie St. Pierre (husband William), and Ann Mernick (husband Gordon), siblings: Jose Pereira Gaspar and Regina Pereira Gaspar, 7 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Maria Loudes Pereira Gaspar.
His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Saturday here at 9 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial St. Michael’s Church at 10 A.M. Entombment in Notre Dame Mausoleum. Calling hours on Friday from 4-8 P.M.
