Warren Gough Davis, age 97, entered into rest on Saturday.
Mr. Davis was was born in Laurens County to Wesley Gough Davis and Florence Grant Davis. He served our country in the United States Naval Air Service during World War II and had lived in Augusta since 1939. He retired from Maxwell Hardware and Supply Company and served as Past President and Secretary of the Lions Club of Augusta. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Harrison Steed Davis; son, Gary H. Davis; and brother, John W. Davis.
He is survived by his son, Charles “Chuck” Davis (Kelly) of Woodstock; daughter in law, Denise Davis of Martinez; grandchildren, Ryan Davis (Brianna) of Appling and Kristen Davis of Martinez; great grandson, Jett Davis; sister, Marjorie Raffield (Buford) of Danville and Carol Hollis of Riverdale; sister in law, Louise Davis of Dublin; and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his miniature dachshund, Calvin.
A graveside service will take place at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 20, 2018 in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Reverend Floyd Harrison III and Chaplain Dusty Wammack will officiate.
