Julia M. "Gigi" Call, a lifelong resident of Medford, passed away Thursday, November 15th. She was 72. Born and raised in Medford. She was the daughter of the late Albert F. and Helen C. (Assetta) Call.
Gigi loved everyone, and was loved in return. She would help anyone in need of help there was not one person she would turn away. If you were to look up the definition of unconditional love, you would be certain that you would see Gigi's name listed there. She was dedicated to "all her kid's", taking care of them was her passion, making them all happy was her main goal in life, and she succeeded on every level. Family meant everything to Gigi, and she was known to be the peace keeper of the family, she made it clear that there would be no arguing.
When Gigi was not spending time with her family, she enjoyed watching General Hospital religiously everyday at 2 PM. She enjoyed frequent visits to Boston's North End, and participating in the Saint Anthony's feast, also celebrating masses at Saint Leonard's Church.
Julia was the dear sister of the late Nicholas and Frank Call. She was the loving cousin of Flora Helperson. The devoted aunt of Tobi Nikias and her husband Peter of Derry, NH, Niki Call Sullivan of Medford, Wendi Zook and her husband Jay of Chesterfield, VA, Frank Call of Medford, and Kristen Maxwell and her husband Andrew of Medford, and great aunt of 14 and great-great aunt of 4.
Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Tuesday, November 20th, at 10 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 512 High St., Medford at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Monday 5 - 8 PM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove cemetery, Medford.
