Obituary

North Grafton: John F. X. Sheridan III, 70, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 16, 2018 in Knollwood Nursing Center surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's Disease. He leaves his wife of 40 years, Linda M. (Desmarais) Sheridan; 2 sons- John F. Sheridan IV and his wife Katherine, and Patrick and Rebeccah Sheridan; a daughter- Michelle Sheridan and her companion Matthew Bedrosian all of Whitinsville; 2 granddaughters- Elliette and Norah Sheridan; a sister and brother-in-law Jody and Harry R. Williams III of North Oxford; and many cousins in Arkansas.

Jack was born in Medford, MA, son of the late John and Jody (Jones) Sheridan II. He graduated from Graham Jr. College and Babson College School of Management. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Reserves. He worked as a sales executive for many Worcester County radio stations, including WTAG, WNEB, WAAF, WSRS and WCRN. He was the host of a radio show on Saturdays from noon-6 p.m. at WNEB for several years. He was a member of St. Mary's Church in North Grafton and served as a lector and member of its religious education board. He volunteered as the Assistant Scout Leader for Boy Scout Troop # 106 in North Grafton and supervised many camping trips and trips to Washington DC with his sons and the Boy Scouts. He was an avid Boston sports fan, especially enjoying baseball and he and Linda fulfilled their goal of attending games at all 30 major league baseball parks. He enjoyed reading, history, and spending time with family and friends. His wonderful sense of humor and friendly nature will be missed by all who knew him. The family would like to thank the staff at Knollwood Nursing Center for their compassionate care of Jack during his illness.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, November 19, 2018 from 5-8 p.m. in Nordgren Funeral Home 300 Lincoln St. Worcester. A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Mary's Church 17 Waterville St. North Grafton. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery in Worcester. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jack's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to the Employee Appreciation Fund at Knollwood Nursing Center 87 Briarwood Circle Worcester, MA 01606.
