GRANBY ~ Judy Ann Desgres-Cote, MSW, LICSW, 63, of Granby, was Called Safely Home on Wednesday, November 14, 2018. She passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Holyoke on March 13, 1955, a beloved daughter of George A. Desgres of South Hadley and the late Arlene E. (Rodgers) Desgres who was Called Home on February 3, 1990. She was raised in Chicopee, graduated from Chicopee Comprehensive High School and lived in Chicopee for many years before moving to Granby in 2011. She furthered her education and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from the College of Our Lady of the Elms in Chicopee and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Fordham University in the Bronx, NY. She was employed as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and had worked through Baystate Medical Practices in East Longmeadow. She was a member of First Central Bible Church in Chicopee. Judy showered her family and many friends with her love and affection that was returned to her a thousand fold. In addition to her loving father, she leaves her beloved husband and best friend, Richard R. “Rick” Cote; her loving sister, Penny M. Goodman and her husband, Norman Desmarais, of Chicopee; her loving brother, Gary G. Desgres and his wife, Janine, of Charlemont; her cherished niece, April Belczyk and her husband, Cory, of Ware; and her dear uncle, Richard “Dick” Desgres and his wife, Rose, of Holyoke. Judy also leaves her dear mother-in-law, Helen M. (Desilets) Cote of Chicopee; her two dear brothers-in-law, Thomas Cote and his wife, Judy, of West Springfield and James Cote and his wife, Donna, of Chicopee; her two dear sisters-in-law, Janice Mueller and her husband, Kevin, of Grand Forks, ND and Joyce Gregoire of Connecticut; and her many dear cousins, friends and extended members of the Desgres and Cote families. Judy will also be missed by her four cherished cats, Timmy, Tyler, Isaac and Black. In addition to her beloved mother, she was also predeceased by her dear father-in-law, Richard W. Cote. Visiting Hours will be held on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her family and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Service on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at 10 a.m. at First Central Bible Church, 50 Broadway Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her Burial will be private at the convenience of her family. Her family requests that memorial donations be made in her memory to First Central Bible Church, 50 Broadway Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
