Steven Mark Jacobson, age 64, of Atlanta, Georgia entered into rest on November 11, 2018.
Mark was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on May 26, 1954. He was the son of Einar Jacobson, Jr. (deceased) and Dorothy Mae Hamilton Jacobson. Mark graduated from University of Georgia’s College of Environment and Design in 1978. While at UGA, he was a member of Theta Chi Fraternity. In 1982, Mark received the Environment Improvement Award in recognition of his efforts in improving the environment for the benefit of mankind. He formed Jacobson Landscape Design, LLC and continued his exceptional work as a landscape architect. While in Atlanta he met and married Roberta Ann Peacock on November 22, 1986. She was the love of his life.
Mark had an extraordinary love of family and a unique sense of humor. He had an inquisitive mind and loved to share his strong opinions. All of “Jake’s” Facebook friends will miss his bantering during college football games. Go Dawgs!!
Mark is survived by his wife, Roberta of 32 years; his mother, Dorothy Mae Jacobson, three sisters, Carol Fuller and husband, Tommy of Augusta, Marty Ellison and her husband Greg of Augusta, and Cathy Mericka and her husband Keith of Santa Rosa Beach, FL; nephews, Ben Fuller (Alicia), Neil Fuller (Kristi), Dr. Taylor Ellison, Leigh Ellison, Sarah Ellison, Catherine Mericka and William Mericka II; great nieces Lily and Maggie Fuller, and Ansley and Davis Fuller.
The immediate family will join for his graveside service at Westover Memorial Park on Friday, November 16, 2018. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Platt’s Funeral Home, 337 Belair Rd, Evans, GA 30809. The family will receive friends at Platt’s after the memorial service.
