Maetrude “Trudy” Brickle Haley, 92, of Lenox passed away Monday, November 12, 2018, at the Rehabilitation Center of South Georgia in Tifton, which had been her home for the last 3 ½ years. A graveside memorial service will be held for Mrs. Haley at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 19, 2018, at Lenox Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest. The Rev. Brian Allen will officiate.
Born June 18, 1926 in Desoto City, Florida, Mrs. Haley was the daughter of the late Harry Lafayette Brickle and Annie Mae Stivender Brickle. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William J. “Bill” Haley; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Leon Brickle, Roy and Wilma Brickle and Bobby Joel and Juanita Brickle; and one sister and brother-in-law, Maxine and Dan Gibson. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Chula. She loved pretty things, loved to decorate and loved to cook. She loved her family and took care of all her family members and was considered to be the “Mother Hen” of the family.
Mrs. Haley is survived by two sisters and brothers-in-law, Willa and John Inman of Albany and Wilhelmina and Buddy Talley of Chula; a sister-in-law, Ann Brickle of Tequesta, Florida; and many nieces and nephews.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial gifts may be made to the First Baptist Church of Chula, 30 Academy Drive, Chula, GA 31733; or a charity of choice.
