Obituary

John C. Lichoulas died unexpectedly on Friday night, November 9th, with his wife Roberta by his side. John was a successful businessman, a meticulous property owner, an avid fisherman, boater, scuba diver, and ocean lover. He enjoyed attending Golden Glove fights with the guys, but most important in his life, he was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, cousin and uncle.

John was a second generation and life-long Woburnite. He attended Woburn schools where he met his wife, Roberta, in seventh grade at the Kennedy Middle School and graduated from Woburn High with the class of `74. He and Roberta still keep in touch with many friends from their class. From the time John and Roberta met they were inseparable. The entire family sends their deepest thanks to Stephanie Conway for introducing them. Roberta gave John a reason to work hard, and the kids gave John a reason to be gentle. He loved being a dad. He understood that his family was life`s most precious gifts. He was also an amazing uncle to Scott, Chris, Cole, Val, Krissy, David, Sophia, Theo, Andrew, Vanessa, and Dylan.

John enjoyed living in the same house on the west side for the past 35 years with frequent trips to Gloucester every summer. He loved hosting cookouts and pool parties at home as much as he enjoyed inviting everyone to meet him and Roberta at their boat for scuba diving, fishing, or a cruise around the harbor. He was especially pleased when his daughter Alicia and niece Val started scuba diving with him and made sure they had all the essential safety equipment, including their first spear guns.

He looked forward to attending the Golden Gloves with his brother Al, friends Dennis Katramados, John Casey, Franko, and "the guys". They always had a great time wherever they were and whatever they were doing.

John was fun, hard-working, generous, successful, and devoted to his family. He is pre-deceased by his father, James. He is survived by his wife Roberta, son Johnny, daughter Alicia and her fiancé Brian Doherty, mother Agnes, godmother Aunt Eva, Aunt Kitty, brothers Jimmy, Ted, Richard, and Al, sisters Vicky and Mara, siblings-in-law Glenn and Paulette, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He will be sorely missed.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in his name to his dear niece Vanessa`s school, Mount Hope Christian School, 3 McGinnis Dr., Burlington, MA 01803.

Funeral services will be held from the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., WOBURN, Thursday, November 15th, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Barbara Church, 138 Cambridge Rd., Woburn, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
