SWANSEA – Gladys L. Sylvia, age 77 previously of Fall River, passed away on Friday, Nov. 9, 2018 at Country Gardens Health & Rehab. Center, Swansea with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Leonard Sylvia and the daughter of the late Florian G. & Minna (Wright) Banville.
Prior to retiring, Gladys worked as an Assembler for Deknatel – Genzyme Medical Supply Co. Previously she worked for 36 years at the former Shelburne Shirt Co.
She is survived by her son: John Perry and his wife Julie of Somerset; a granddaughter: Jennifer Perry; 2 great granddaughters: Penelope & Anastasia Ambroziak; her siblings: Jacqueline Vieira of FL & Raymond Banville of N. Dartmouth; nieces & nephews. She was the sister of the late Minna Marsella, Barbara Banville, and Dorothy Norton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Gladys’ memory to the Animal Rescue League of Fall River, 474 Durfee St., Fall River, MA 02720
Following cremation, a Mass of Christian Burial will take place in St. John of God Church, 996 Brayton Ave., Somerset on Monday, Nov. 19th at 11:00 A.M. Interment will follow in the Acushnet Cemetery, 91 Main St., Acushnet, MA. Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, Inc. 1521 N. Main St. Fall River, MA.
