Obituary

Virginia V. “Ginny” (Embree) Lombardo, 86, passed away on Monday November 5 after a complicated illness.

Born on May 21, 1932 in Springhill, Nova Scotia she was the daughter of the late Boyd H. and Maudena A. Embree, who were also born in Springhill, Nova Scotia.

Ginny was a graduate of Weymouth High School, Class of 1952 and was employed thereafter as a switchboard operator for the Sears Roebuck Corporation. Later she had worked many years in sales and retail and had contracted with various marketing corporations for food demonstration and distribution. However the “job” she loved the most was that of a full time mother.

Ginny enjoyed shopping, going to the beach and watching movies, but what she cherished the most was the time spent with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her children Debra A. Armstrong and her husband Doug, Douglas J. Kilburn, Bonnie L. Smith, Paula J. Kilburn-Lincoln and Brenda S. Lombardo. She is also survived by her grandsons, David D. Armstrong III, Steven M. MacDonald, Joseph B. MacDonald, Nicholas C. MacDonald, Bruce E. Smith, Christopher J. Lincoln, Jeffrey S. Lincoln, Justin D. Kilburn and Joseph D. Lombardo as well as 5 great grandchildren. She was the loving grandmother of the late Kimberly A. Armstrong.

She will be lovingly remembered and truly missed by all her family, who have always been so close with her.

“If roses grow in heaven, Lord please pick a bunch for me,
place them in my mother’s arms and tell her they’re from me.

Tell her I love her and miss her, and when she turns to smile,
place a kiss upon her cheek and hold her for a while.

Because remembering her is easy, I do it every day,
but there’s an ache within my heart that will never go away.”

By request of the family all services are private.
