Obituary

Stephen J. Sodano passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday morning. He was 74. A life-long Medford resident he was the son of the late Ferdinand F. and Kathleen A. (Mullis) Sodano. A devoted family man, Stephen enjoyed a long career with Polaroid Corporation. His true love was his family. He also enjoyed sailing, cars, golf and hockey. Stephen coached hockey and baseball, too. Stephen never missed a chance to spend time with his grandchildren and attend their athletic events. He also held a strong devotion to Saint Jude.

Stephen leaves the love of his life for 55 years, his wife, Sandra (DeHaven) Sodano. He was a devoted and loving father to David C. Sodano, his wife Michele and loving grandfather to their children: Stephen and MacKenzie, all of South Carolina; as well as his daughter Renee’ Sousa, her husband Anthony and their children Anthony Jr., Deanna and Michael. He was a beloved brother-in-law to Suzanne Murphy and dear uncle to her children: Theresa Porrazzo, Robert Murphy, Suzanne DePalma and the late William DeLellis. He was a dear brother to David Sodano, Nancy Durkee, Mary Plouden and her husband Dan and uncle to their children Alex, Annabelle and Erik. Stephen also leaves his sisters Laura Sliman, Jolee LaPaglia and is pre-deceased by his sister Irene Mulkern.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with the family at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, on Thursday from 4 – 8 PM and again on Friday morning, November 9th at 9 with a procession to St Francis of Assisi Church, 441 Fellsway West, Medford for a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 AM. Cremation will follow.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be sent in Stephen's name to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN, 38105.
