James Burke Johnston, age 70, of Weymouth passed away with his family by his side on November 4, 2018. Jim was born in Boston then raised and educated in Braintree. He served in the Navy Seabees after high school, and when he returned met and married his wife Jayne. They started a family together and settled in Weymouth, where they have resided ever since. Jim was naturally curious, creative, and handy, and carried a love of learning and designing/building throughout his life. He had a deep connection to his family home in Falmouth, where he spent his childhood summers, and later designed and built a new house for his family to enjoy.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years Jayne Johnston (née Cohen) of Weymouth, his two loving children, Brian Johnston and his wife Kara Smith of Natick, and Adam Johnston and his wife Emily of Somerville. He is also survived by his grandchildren Asher and Gabriel, and his two sisters Mary and Susan Johnston.
Services for James will be private for his family.
