Vickie Lynn Smith, 62, of Ben Hill County, Georgia, died Tuesday, November 6, 2018, at Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 3 PM, Friday, November 9, 2018, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Jeremy Cox officiating. Interment will follow in New Bethel Cemetery, in Ben Hill County, Georgia. The family will receive friends from 1 PM until 3 PM, Friday, at the funeral home before the service.
Ms. Smith was born November 25, 1955, in Ben Hill County, Georgia, to the late Thomas Carlton Garner, Sr. & Mary Alice Ivey Garner. She lived in the community all of her life and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, cooking and baking.
She is survived by her children: Geoffrey “Jed” Smith of Fitzgerald and Ashley Nicole Smith of Fitzgerald; three step-children; a grandson, Tyler Smith; 11 step-grandchildren; 6 step-great-grandchildren; siblings: Dianne Jacobs of Rebecca, Thomas Garner, Jr. & Barbara of Fitzgerald, Susan Westberry & Halbert of Fitzgerald, Cathy Bowman of Rebecca, John Alan Garner of Rebecca and Dale Garner & Sue of Fitzgerald. She was preceded in death by her companion, Charles Arvin Smith.
