EDWARD J. VENTO, age 52, of Norwell, formerly of Hingham, died on Tuesday, Dec. 13th at Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston after a brief illness. Mr. Vento was born in Chelsea and was a longtime Hingham resident, graduating from Hingham High School in 1971. He was the fifth in a "litter" of seven sons of the late Anthony W. and the late Katherine A. (Jensen) Vento. He was a 'Jack of all Trades' and for the past 30 years was a carpenter in the South Shore area, most recently with John Godfrey of Universal Business Maintainance of Weymouth.
He is survived by his 6 brothers; Richard A. of Culpepper, VA, Kenneth A. of Bulverde, TX, Stephen A. of Mass., Paul A. of Plymouth, William A. of Abington and Michael A. of Hanson. He was the nephew of Arthur "Archie" Jensen of Milton and Anna Deane of Virginia. Also survived by his longtime girlfriend, Pamela S. Locke of Norwell and several nieces.
A Prayer Service will be conducted on Saturday, Dec. 17th at 10 AM at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, 21 Pond St., Hingham.
Friends may visit at the Downing Chapel on Friday from 4-8 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
The interment is to be private.
