We celebrate the life of Cecile Marie who passed away peacefully on November 2nd at Sunrise of Norwood. Cecile was born on April 5, 1923 in Stonington, Maine. Her love of family, church and friends inspired us all over the years.
There is quite a legacy Cecile and her deceased husband Berthold, Senior created. Five children ~ Berthold, Jr, Yvonne, Jeannette, Peter and Christopher, sixteen grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren and five great, great grandchildren. Cecile is also survived by her sister Sharyn Elizabeth Matthews and loving nieces and nephews.
Cecile’s most fulfilling career was in nursing. She was a member of the National Grange Association, taught Sunday School at St. John’s Episcopal Church and was an active participant in Sharon Senior Center activities. She loved walking, reading and most memorable her love for cooking. One person asked what her specialty was, and the resounding answer was “everything!”.
Though our hearts are saddened by her passing, her strength, determination and love of God fill us with pride and love to have known her.
Funeral services will be held Wed, Nov 7th, 1pm at St. John’s Episcopal Church, High Street, Sharon, MA. Cecile will be laid to rest with her husband Berthold, Senior and children Yvonne and Peter at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton, MA.
