Frances (Ippolito) Caradonna of Somerville died on Saturday, November 3, at Belmont Manor Nursing Home. Born and raised in Salemi, Sicily, she was the daughter of the late Francesco and Giuseppa (Grasso) Ippolito. Frances moved to the U.S. at the age of 28 and worked for many years as a seamstress in Boston's North End. She has been a resident of Belmont Manor for the past five years.
Frances was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Caradonna, and the devoted mother of Peter Caradonna and his wife Megan of Arlington. She was the loving grandmother of Margaret, Joseph and John Caradonna, and the cherished sister of the late Rosa and Paolo Ippolito, Antonina Lombardo, Francesco Ippolito and Antonietta Cucchiara. Frances is also survived by many dear family members and friends.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Wednesday, November 7 at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Eulalia Church, 50 Ridge St., Winchester, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Visiting hours Tuesday, November 6, from 4 through 8 PM.
