WORCESTER, MA: Patricia D. (McNamara) Donoghue, 80, of Lancaster, South Carolina, formerly of Worcester, died Monday, October 29, 2018 in Lancaster at White Oak Manor. Her husband of 34 years, John J. Donoghue, Jr., died June 17, 2000.
She leaves a daughter, Maureen D. Donoghue; 4 grandchildren, Byron Sellers, Kiara, Kiaya and Kenia Cunningham, a daughter-in-law, Elizabeth A. “Beth” (Berg) Donoghue; her special friends Deb and Ron Hopkins, all of South Carolina; and many nieces and nephews. Her son, Michael J. Donoghue of Greer, SC, died in 2003. She was also predeceased by 4 brothers and 3 sisters, William E. McNamara, Jr., Charles McNamara, John McNamara, Edward McNamara, Eileen Firestone, Eleanor Rand, and Ann Marie Lamarche.
She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late William E. and Ella M. (End) McNamara and lived in Leominster and Worcester before moving to South Carolina in 1991. She was a graduate of St. Bernard’s High School in Fitchburg and the former Ward Business School in Worcester.
Pat worked for many years as a key punch operator at Norton Company in Worcester and previously at Raytheon in Waltham. She had been a member of St. Catherine Church in Lancaster and its’ Golden Group and a former member of Immaculate Conception Church in Worcester. She will be fondly remembered for her great sense of humor.
The family would like to express most sincere thanks to the staff of White Oak Manor for the kindness and compassion they provided to Pat while in their care.
