Dominic Ingemi, 84, died at the Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton on Tuesday, December 13 after a period of failing health. He was the husband of the late Irene B. (Jastremski) Ingemi. Born in Salem, Mr. Ingemi was a graduate of Salem High School, Class of 1939. He was a Stoughton resident for the past 4 years after living in Canton for 44 years. Mr. Ingemi was an U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was the owner and beautician of Dom’s Coiffeurs in Canton and Dom’s Hair Fashion in Peabody from 1950-1968 before becoming a Beauty Hair Supply Salesman for the R.G. Shakur Co. until retirement at age 65. He then worked at Shaw’s Supermarket in Stoughton for 10 years. Mr. Ingemi was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Stoughton and Sons of Italy in Falmouth. In his free time he enjoyed golfing and spending time with his family.
Mr. Ingemi is survived by his son, Dominic R. Ingemi of Canton, his daughter, Cynthia M. Deegan of Stoughton, his grandchildren, Michelle Steeves, Donna Nordbeck, Melissa York and Dominic J. Ingemi and his sister, Angie Collorone of Salem. He is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Esther Tucker, Josephine Cameron and Margaret Ingemi.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday, December 16 at 9:15 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:15 AM. Visiting Hours Thursday 5-8 PM. Interment will take place at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton. Donations in Dom’s name may be made to the American Heart Assn., 20 Speen St., Framingham, 01701.
