Obituary

NATICK: Robert S. (Bob) Munroe, 83, long-time resident of Natick, peacefully passed on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at home surrounded by his family after a period of declining health.
He is survived by his devoted, loving wife of 59 years, Jeri (Spadoni) Munroe. Bob was born on March 3, 1935 to the (late) Frank and Doris (Sullivan) Munroe in Framingham, MA.
His adolescent years were spent working on the family farm in East Pittston, Maine where he attended Bridge Academy playing football and basketball. Upon the family’s return to Framingham, Bob enlisted and proudly served in the U.S. Army and National Guard.
He was a hard-working, creative man who had many talents. Bob was a proud member of Ironworkers Local 7 in Boston where he spent the majority of his working years. He was an avid sports fan who loved the Patriots and Red Sox. Bob was the president of the Indian Heights Association in Buzzards Bay for over 20 years where he enjoyed fishing, boating and spending quality time with his family and friends. He was an extremely generous individual who derived great pleasure in doing for others. Bob loved life and he loved his family.
In addition to his wife, Bob is survived by his four children: Robert W. Munroe and his wife Erin of Shrewsbury, Richard Munroe and his wife Marion of Hopedale, Lisa MacDonald and her husband Chris of Hopedale, and Jennifer Smith of Boylston; his nine grandchildren: Stephen and Nick Brown, Bob, Molly and Taylor Munroe, Emily and Ashley MacDonald, Ricky and Autumn Smith; his four great-grandchildren: Maddison, Mackenzie, Colton and Rory Brown; his loving sister: Betty Moody of Mary Esther, Florida and many loving nieces and nephews.
Bob’s family would like to thank Natick VNA nurses: Keri, Simone and Lynn for their care and compassion.
Family and friends are invited to visitation at John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street, Natick, MA 01760 on Thursday, November 8th from 4:00-8:00 P.M.
A funeral service will be held in the Chapel of John Everett & Sons Funeral Home on Friday, November 9th at 10:00 A.M.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Bob’s name to Natick VNA, 209 East Central Street, Natick, MA 01760 or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
