Floreece D. Ross, 84, of Ocilla, Georgia, died Wednesday, October 31, 2018, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Saturday, November 3, 2018, at Bethlehem Baptist Church, in Irwin County, Georgia, with the Rev. James Griffin and the Rev. John Gibbs, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the Church.
Mrs. Ross was born October 8, 1934, in Irwin County, Georgia, to the late Henry Allen Denney & Clyde Handley Denney. She lived in the community all of her life and graduated from Ocilla High School. Mrs. Ross was a bookkeeper for Willett’s Post Yard & Truck Stop, W. E. Ross & Sons and Ocilla Gin. She was a hard worker and an avid gardener. Mrs. Ross loved her grandchildren and enjoyed dancing and camping. Mrs. Ross was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church where she kept the nursery during Sunday school for many years.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Kenneth Ross of Ocilla; children: Kenneth Allen Ross & Donna of Broxton, Vickie Ross Whitley & Ed of Ocilla, Lynn Ross Gillis of Ocilla and Darrell Wayne Ross & Bobbie of Ocilla; grandchildren: Suzanne Bohler, Laura Covington & Luther, Lindsey McMahan & Hank, Tanner Ross, Carie Lynn Fussell & Ryan, Walter Scott Carver & Krystal, Jeffery Wayne Ross & Jennifer and Stephanie Floreece Ross; step-grandchildren: Travis Whitley & Jill and Stacey McMillan & David; great-grandchildren: Tristin Bohler, Ashton Bohler, James Allen Bryant, Morgan Bryant, Cason Covington, Cleve McMahan, Cash McMahan, Sophia Fussell, Colton Fussell, Payton Carver, Kyle Carver, Jaxon Ross and Laine Ross; step-great-grandchildren: Brandon McMillan, Hunter McMillan, Jonathan McMillan, Aubrey McMillan, Callie McMillan, Whitley McMillan, Austin Whitley and Lauran Whitley; two sisters: Elaine Goodson of Winterville and Loretta Mai of Palm Coast, Florida and a sister-in-law, Mary Denney of Ocilla. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.
