Worcester – Joseph D, Smith, 53, passed away unexpectedly on October 23rd.
Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Amanda L. (Wilson) Smith; his son, Joseph Jr. of Worcester; his two daughters, Tiffany of Westminster and Alyssa of Worcester; his mother Mary E. (Sawtell) Smith of Worcester; his two step children, Leanne and Brian of Worcester; 5 brothers, Donald Sawtel of Dalton, GA, Raymond Smith of Maryland, Richard Smith of Ohio, David Smith and Daniel Smith both of Worcester; 4 sisters, Edith Fletcher of Northbridge, Mary Holbrook, Agnes Smith and Laura Miller all of Worcester; a close friend, Tina Mancini of Worcester; 6 grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.
Joe worked for many years a truck driver and was currently working for NTS Trucking of Hopedale. He was a member of the Worcester Lodge of Elks #243 and was the happiest when he was either driving his truck or Harley Davidson and listening to country Music.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, November 3rd from 2 to 5 PM in the Friendship Room of the Worcester Lodge of Elks 233 Mill St. Worcester. Memorial contributions in memory of Mr. Smith may be made to Sherry’s House c/o Why Me Inc. 1152 Pleasant Street Worcester, MA 01602.
