WORCESTER: John J. “Jack” Lyons, 70, passed away Saturday October 27th at St Vincent Hospital surrounded by family and friends.
Jack was born January 27, 1948 in Worcester , one of eight children of the late James T. and Catherine (McGonagle) Lyons.
Educated in the Worcester Public School System and a veteran, having served with distinction in The United States Army, Jack was well known and respected throughout the Worcester community.
He worked for many years in the railroad industry as a yardmaster, before founding and operating Lyons Construction Company. Jack was a proud member, Chaplain, and bartender at The Italian American Veterans Post, a member of The Brown Square Civic Club, and The Fraternal Order of Eagles.
He is survived by his four children, Sheri Lyons, Bronson Lyons and his fiancé Lynn, Keith Lyons, and Megan Lyons, all of Worcester; a brother, Daniel Lyons and his wife Mary Russell of Brookline; a sister, Maureen Cupoli and her husband Michael of Shrewsbury; four grandchildren, Gabriella, Wyatt, Bronson and Luke.
Jack was pre-deceased by his siblings, Dorothy Brodeur, James T. Lyons Jr., Marjorie Chase, Francis M. Lyons, and Kevin D. Lyons.
Calling hours are Friday, November 2nd from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at FAZIO FUNERAL HOME, 9 Branch St, Worcester. Burial will be private.
