FALL RIVER - Helen (Mello) Aguiar, age 93, of Fall River, passed away on Tuesday, October 30, 2018. She was the wife of the late James Aguiar, and daughter of the late Joseph C. and Leontina (Chaves) Mello. Helen was an active member of St. Bernard’s Parish, a Marian Medal Recipient, and enjoyed baking and cooking for her family.
She is survived by her children; Elaine Belanger (husband Arthur), James Aguiar Jr. (wife Marjorie), and Kenneth Aguiar (wife Linda), 5 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Mary Hamel, Evelyn Petrasso, Dorothy Mello, Joseph, John, Frank, Manuel, and James Mello.
Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, Inc. 1521 N. Main St., Fall River on Friday with extended calling hours from 8:30-9:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Bernard’s Church, Assonet at 10 A.M. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery.
