Obituary

Barry M. McLaughlin, of Woburn on October 29, 2018. Beloved husband, for 29 years, of Lauren C. (Collins) McLaughlin. Devoted father of Brian McLaughlin of Woburn. Barry was the cherished son of Paul C. McLaughlin of Woburn and the late Mary P. (Rantano) McLaughlin. He was the son-in-law of the late Gene and Lois (Matthews) Collins. Barry was the youngest sibling to Sharon Marrama (and her husband, Louie) of Lynnfield; Paul McLaughlin, Jr. of Woburn; Laurie Morris (and husband, Glenn) of Woburn; and Maureen Miller (and husband, Daniel) of Dover, NH. Barry is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly: Erica Wright; Sean McLaughlin, Kerrie Redman, Colleen Dahlberg, Brandon McLaughlin; Chris, Kyle and Keith Morris; Jaime Roscoe, Jason Miller; Captain David, Kevin and Lisa Minghella; and Michael Rosato. Barry was a caring brother-in-law to Nancy Minghella (and husband Victor), Jo-Anne Collins, and Susan Collins of Woburn, and Jim Rosato of Wakefield. Barry was predeceased by Lauren's siblings Stephen Collins and Cheryl Rosato. Barry will be significantly missed by his loving dog, Max. Barry also leaves behind many close friends, cousins, and an aunt and uncle who love him dearly.

Barry lived in Woburn the entirety of his 55 years. When family and friends think of Barry they will smile and remember him as a person with an incredible sense of humor; he had the gift of making everyone laugh since he was a young child. The most important parts of his life were his relationships with family and friends - he truly treasured holiday and life celebrations. Barry and Lauren's 29-year marriage was filled with many celebrations, including raising their now 19-year-old son, Brian. Barry and Lauren's strong bond was evident during the last five months as Lauren unconditionally loved and supported Barry through his cancer diagnosis and treatment.

Barry was a devoted employee at Lennox Industries for more than 33 years. His commitment to the company was an example of his dedication and hard work, characteristics passed down to him from his father. Barry spent nearly every day in contact with family since he lived next door to his father, brother and sister. The family laughingly calls it "the McLaughlin compound."

Barry's family would like to invite you to celebrate his life and to support one another through the grieving process. Visiting hours will be held at the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., Woburn on Friday, November 2, from 3 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, November 3, at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass celebrated in St. Charles Borromeo Church, 280 Main St., Woburn, at 10 a.m. Services will conclude with burial at Calvary Cemetery, Woburn.
