Beth McKenzie, 91, of West Milan, NH, passed away on Sunday October 28, 2018 at her home. She was born in Bean’s Purchase, NH, on June 20, 1927 the daughter of Alva and Mildred (Everett) Richardson and lived most of her life in Berlin. She has resided in West Milan since 1979 and had been employed by Granite State Rubber Company for 14 years. Beth was the first white child born under the realm of the White Mountain National Forest in the Town of Bean’s Purchase Wild River Valley and had a brook named after her on the York Pond Road, Betty’s Brook, to commemorate her being born in the White Mountain National Forest.
Family includes her children Rick McKenzie and wife Gisele of Berlin, NH, Melinda Mann and husband Stephen of Concord, NH, Caroleen McKenzie-Dudley ad husband Stephen of Oquossoc, ME, Timothy Mckenzie and wife Joy of Chapel Hill, NC and Kimberly McKenzie of Dover, NH; 8 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; brother Rodney Richardson of Henniker, NH; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Andrew McKeznie and children Ilene Kollar, Andrew McKenzie, Jr., Eugene McKenzie and Tina Hayes and a brother Richard Richardson.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the USDA Forest Service, Betty’s Wild River Lean-tos, c/o USDA Forest Service, 300 Glen Rd., Gorham, NH 03581. Arrangements are by the Bryant Funeral Homes, Berlin and Gorham, NH.
