William Peters, 86, of Dartmouth, formerly of New Bedford, passed away Thursday October 25, 2018 at home.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Joseph and Anna (Frates) Peters, he lived in New Bedford for most of his life.
He was a communicant of St. Lawrence Church.
Mr. Peters was formerly employed by the City of New Bedford at the city garage until his retirement.
He enjoyed bowling and auto racing and was an avid Boston Red Sox fan.
Survivors include his siblings, Joseph Peters of Wareham and Myra LeValley of New Bedford; and many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Doreen Broughton, Mary Wentworth, and Barbara Mello.
His Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday November 5, 2018 at 9 AM at St. Lawrence Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visiting hours are omitted.
