Born in Attleboro, MA on June 8, 1950, he was a loving son of the late Lydia (Kashtan) Norftill and Frank W. Norftill.
Gary grew up in Mansfield and was a 1969 graduate of Mansfield High School. He worked as a truck driver for various companies including Cumberland Farms, St. Johnsbury and APA. His last position was working for FedEx Freight delivering to destinations on Cape Cod. He loved working that route and seeing and meeting different customers who would often call the home office to praise him. He retired from FedEx Freight in 2009 after an injury.
Gary loved cars and trucks and was passionate about keeping them clean and not above washing them 3 or 4 times a week. In 1999, Gary achieved one of his lifelong dreams of purchasing a vacation home on Cape Cod. He and his wife Lisa shared many happy times with family and friends at their home in Pocasset.
He loved boating, the beach and everything about Cape Cod. He was a devoted Patriots fan cheering them on each week. Gary was a member of the North Attleboro YMCA where he enjoyed swimming and making new friends.
Most of all, Gary will be remembered for his sense of humor which enriched all those around him. There wasn’t a place he went to that he didn’t say hello and start a conversation or make a joke. He will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts.
