J.B. Keen, 80, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Saturday, October 27, 2018, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Tuesday, October 30, 2018, at Siloam Baptist Church in Wilcox County, with the Rev. Tommy Baker and the Rev. Joey Boney officiating. Interment will follow in Siloam Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the sanctuary of the church.
Mr. Keen was born March 21, 1938, in Abbeville, Georgia, to the late J.P. Keen and the late Edna Alene Bowen Keen McKie. He retired as the road superintendent for Ben Hill County having worked for over 30 years. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He volunteered with the Ben Hill County Senior Citizens Center delivering Meals on Wheels. He enjoyed reading his Bible and visiting estate sales. Mr. Keen was a member of Siloam Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Marjorie Keen of Fitzgerald; two sons, Ricky Keen & Sara of Milton, Florida and Jody Keen & Roberta of Kentucky; step-children: Cathy Posey & Randy of Fitzgerald, Scott Galbraith & Christy of Douglas, and Lena Wells & Brandon of Valdosta; grandchildren: Richard Keen, Erica Green, and Brady Wells; several great-grandchildren; two brothers: Junior & Imogene Keen and Larry & Brenda Keen, all of Brooksville, Florida; and three sisters: Willie Faye Horn of Fitzgerald, Pauline Hitt of Warner Robins, and Catherine & Ira McCook of Fitzgerald. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, A.T. Keen, Edward Keen, and Marvin McKie; and a sister, Thelma Marie Johnson.
