Obituary

Donald Bagdasar Saffer, 80, of Salem MA, passed away peacefully at home in NH Oct. 24, 2018 with his loving family by his side. He was the husband of the late Ann M. (Brisbois) Saffer.
Born in Salem, MA, the son of the late Bagdasar and M. Christine (Boisvert) Saffer. From High School Donald joined the U.S. Air Force serving in Okinawa Japan. Returning to Salem to marry and raise a family, he worked for North Shore Glass Co. and the United Shoe Machine Corp. moving on in a civilian position for the Department of Defense onto the Department of the Navy as a Quality Assurance Specialist stationed at Varian Microwave Div., (CPI) Beverly, retiring in 2011.
He is survived by his daughters Lorraine Saffer and her partner John Stoddard of Londonderry NH; Sheree Sevigny and her husband Jerry and grandsons Andrew and Austin of Nashua NH (where Donald has resided since 2011); along with several nieces and nephews. Donald was predeceased by his brothers Harry, Leon, Robert, & Alphonse and his sister Rose Swindell.
A visitation will be held in the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St., Salem, MA [Rt 1A / Rt 114], on Saturday Nov. 3 from10:00 – 12:00, with service and military honors at noon.
