Obituary

On October 26, 2018 JOHN B. WATKINS, beloved husband of the late Margaret Elizabeth Watkins, devoted father of Susan Ruth Freeman and husband Timothy and Carol Joyce and husband Gregory and dear friend of Ilse Mair.

John served with distinction during WWII from August 1943 to November 1945 in the Army of the United States with the 2749th Engineer Light Equipment Company participating in the Ardennes, Rhineland, Central Europe, and Northern France Campaigns under General Patton. He earned the EAME Theater Ribbon.

While working full time in a butcher shop John took advantage of the GI Bill and went to night school to earn a Bachelor’s of Science in Marketing from the University of Baltimore. He retired from the United States Postal Service as a Quality Manager after working there for 37 years and during which time he was an active member of the Masons, Sons of the American Revolution, and American Legion.

Family and friends may call at the Funeral Home, 8521 Loch Raven Blvd. (beltway exit 29B) on Tuesday, October 30th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9p.m.; where all are invited to attend Funeral Services on Wednesday, October 31st at 10a.m. Interment in Fork Methodist Cemetery.
