Laura Nell Hill Schlumbrecht, 90, of Blackshear, formerly of Tifton, passed away Saturday, October 27, 2018, at Bayview Nursing and Rehab Community in Nahunta. She had been residing there for about two months following a brief illness. A graveside funeral service will be held for Mrs. Schlumbrecht at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 31, 2018, at Oak Ridge Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest. The Rev. Joseph L. Crumley will officiate.
Born April 2, 1928 in Tifton, Laura was the daughter of the late Annie Lee Hill. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Charles Benson Schlumbrecht.
Laura is survived by one son, Michael R. Schlumbrecht of Blackshear; one daughter, Sarah N. Brown of Plant City, Florida; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
