O’ROURKE, Richard T. 88 of Boston, passed away October 25, 2018 after a brief illness. He is survived by Doris his wife of 42 years.
A graduate of the College of the Holy Cross, Dick served as a Lt. (j.g.) in the Navy during the Korean War. After studies at the New York Graduate School of Finance he spent 33 years as an executive in the investment management business in New York, Houston, and Boston retiring in 1990 as Executive V.P. of the Fidelity Management Trust Co. where he managed a mutual fund and retirement funds for corporate clients of the firm. After retiring in 1990 he and Doris enjoyed planning their annual travels to Europe particularly France. Dick always maintained a continuing interest in the financial markets, and he always enjoyed sharing ideas with many former colleagues and friends.
For many years they maintained a winter residence in Gulf Stream, Florida and spent summers in Old Lyme, Connecticut and Southampton, NY. In recent years Dick and Doris returned as full time residents of Boston enjoying the city’s many attractions particularly their evenings at the Boston Symphony.
A memorial celebration will be held in the spring.
