FALL RIVER – Joseph Viveiros, age 94, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2018 at Sarah Brayton Nursing Center. He was the beloved husband of the late Hilda (Couto) Viveiros. Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late August and Caroline (Cordeiro) Viveiros. Prior to retiring, Joseph worked for Smith Fall River Lumber Co. as a Truck Driver. He was a parishioner of St. Michael’s Church, loved spending time with family and loved his animals.
Joseph is survived by his daughter Nancy Cote (husband Paul) of Fall River; 5 grandchildren: Brandon, Jamie, Timothy, Marc and Megan; 4 great-grandchildren: Alyssa, Maile, Kyle and Emily; Daughter-in-law Carol Viveiros; Brother-in-law Norman Jean; Sister-in-law Alice Viveiros; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son August Viveiros and his siblings August and Antone Viveiros and Mary Ferreira.
The family would like to thank all of the nurses, CNA’s and staff at Sarah Brayton Nursing Home, Charlton Unit, for the outstanding care they gave to Joseph over the last 2 years.
His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Wednesday here at 9 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael’s Church at 10 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Calling hours on Tuesday from 4-7 P.M.
